Oriental Lux

While designing for Hoang Anh & Van’s engagement ceremonies, we knew exactly the colour & theme for each venue. Since Vietnamese ceremonies traditionally take place at both bride & groom family homes & they decided to combined 2 ceremonies in one morning, our job was to create 2 spaces with cohesive themes yet each would have an unique touch.

𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞, Hoang Anh’s mother requested a Chinoiserie theme with an outdoor tent to accommodate more guests. To harmonize with the softness & femininity yet classy of our bride, we chose a specific shade of dusty pink, accompanied by a hue of red & of course, a hint of Chinoiserie blue. To widen the tent, we decided to go with a transparent roof, cover the wall with white chiffons & paper lanterns.

As for attires, we chose a traditional deep red with pink-undertone Ao Dai for the engagement and a loose light pink with modern flare sleeves for the traditional wedding ceremony. 2 completely different silhouettes yet similar in materials Ao Dai helped separate 2 continuous ceremonies & create a beautiful transition from Hoang Anh’s house to Van’s house that we will share in a future post! 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞: for Van’s home modern design, we decided to opt for a pastel color scheme with the focal palette included muted green, lilac & pale yellow. We kept the patterns oriental to be cohesive with the design of Hoang Anh’s home & recommended 2 mothers to change from a floral-lace Ao Dai to orange silk ones. As for the gate & home entrance, 2 different floral arrangements were set to give a romantic welcome to every guests that day.
